About Kristina Lifors

Kristina Lifors was born in Stockholm but moved with her family at the age of 13 to Naples, Florida. While her mother was looking at architectural plans and planning the family’s new home, Kristina watched alongside and gained an interest for the design world.

Despite her love for decorating, Kristina went to the University of Rhode Island and graduated with a BA in Marketing. After realizing marketing wasn’t her calling in life, she followed her life long dream and moved to New York to pursue a career in interior design.

Kristina joined the renowned firm of Brian J. McCarthy in the Spring of 2000, as assistant decorator to the team. Not long thereafter, she was promoted to senior decorator and began working side by side with Mr. McCarthy on some of the firm’s biggest and most prestigious accounts. Under the direction of Brian McCarthy, Kristina quickly gained a comprehensive knowledge of the design process. It was here that she was formally trained as a decorator enhancing her sense of color, composition and style.

Her work includes a residence in Bel Air, California, a penthouse and several large apartments on Park Avenue in New York, a summer retreat in South Hampton, and a large family apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side which appeared in the December 2007 issue of Elle Decor.

After eight years with Mr. McCarthy, Kristina left New York and moved back to Stockholm. A year later she opened up her own boutique and design company to create interiors which reflect her own eclectic style.

Kristina’s sense of style, combined with her color and design flair, contribute to her ability to come up with the perfect mix for a beautiful interior.
